Bell Family Vigil - Sunday March 23, 2008
About 60
people gathered last night for the monthly vigil that Sean Bell's
family has held in his memory since his murder by the NYPD on his
wedding day in November 2006. Prayer and words were shared by family,
Rev. Herbert Daughtry (House of the Lord Church in Brooklyn), Orlando
Greeen (Peoples Justice for Community Control & Police
Accountability), and others. Representatives of several community based
organizations attended, including: Audre Lorde Project; CAAAV
Organizing Asian Communities; Justice Committee; National Hip Hop
Political Convention; and Nodutdol for Korean Community Development.
